The Adani Group has announced its results for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2024-’25 (Q1 FY25). A robust performance saw the group’s Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) touch Rs 22,570 crore, recorded at a growth rate of 32.87 per cent year on year.
The resultant 12-month EBITDA in comparison to that of the past year has witnessed a 45.13 per cent surge, reaching Rs 79,180 crore.
Overall, the growth is due to the good showing of group’s Core Infrastructure platform, that includes Adani Power, Adani Total Gas, Adani Energy Solutions and Adani Green Energy, besides Adani Ports and Special Economic Zones (SEZ). The Core Infrastructure platform contributes more than 80 per cent of the group’s EBITDA.
Adani Power registered a growth of 53.6 per cent while Adani Green Energy saw a surge of 30.3 per cent in operational capacity. Together, these two entities were responsible for a 41.44-per cent EBITDA increase in the group’s utility segment.
Emerging ventures of the group — including solar and wind power, and airports — added up to 13.3 per cent of the EBITDA, compared to 7.2 per cent in the previous year.
The solar module manufacturing sector of Adani Enterprises registered a 125 per cent growth in sales year on year. The group’s solar unit at Mundra is India's first and biggest vertically integrated solar manufacturer.
The conglomerate’s infrastructure development projects such as the Khavda-Bhuj Transmission Line witnessed progress. Ports and SEZ recorded an EBITDA surge of 29.62 per cent, and the group bagged new concession deals in the fiscal year.
Vizhinjam port was commissioned in July this year and will start operating in November. This is the first trans-shipment port of the country and is equipped with the most sophisticated technology in South Asia to handle containers.
The group’s airport business registered growth, too, with annual passenger footfalls across seven airports scaling an unprecedented count of 90 million. The first quarter witnessed the introduction of six new carriers, eight routes and 13 new flights across the seven airports. At Lucknow airport, 25 new brands were introduced after the inauguration of Terminal 3.
During the first quarter of the fiscal year, the group constructed 730 lane-kilometres. This is the highest ever. Meanwhile, the group has started the construction of 500 MW hydro pump storage.
