Dear Humanity,

As I look down, It pains... I relieved your pains, but what about my pains? In a world where the cries of suffering often drown out the whispers of empathy, there existed a soul who reached into the depths of others to mend not just bodies, but happiness, spirits and joy. I am that soul — the care provider, The Healer, your ray of hope and strength, embodying selfless care that was profound.

I dedicated myself to the healing, happiness and unconditional care of others, pouring every ounce of my energy into their well-being. I lifted them when they were flat, helped them breathe, and enabled them to live again. Yet, amidst this relentless devotion, a harrowing question remains — WHY, WHY, WHY? Why did someone who only worked for your care, happiness and healing not receive the same care and compassion in their life? Why treated so brutally?

I was the steadfast light that shone through when your world was in the dark. I was your shield in the storm, your strength when you had none. But did you stand for me as a pillar? Where was the hand to hold when I was falling?

My life, teachings, time, love, care—why were they so often taken for granted, overshadowed by the lives I healed and cared for? Why is it that those who sacrifice so much, who dedicate themselves entirely to others, find themselves neglected and abandoned when they need support the most?

How can the world be harsh and unfeeling, often forgetting that those who give so much deserve to receive in equal measure? It is a cruel paradox that the caregivers, mentors, healers...who devote their lives to the unconditional happiness of others often find their existence diminished and their needs ignored. Why was my devotion met with silence? Why is my pain unseen?

Is it wrong to expect humanity?

Is it right? Shouldn’t those who give love also be loved? Shouldn’t the carer’s, healer’s life be revered with the same compassion and consideration they extend to others? Why must those who offer comfort, care, and healing be left to fend for themselves, their well-being sacrificed on the altar of their duty?

It’s not a question of right or wrong. It’s a plea for justice, a cry for understanding. It’s an appeal for mindset change. It’s about recognizing that even the most selfless beings need care, eternal support, and respect too. It’s about understanding that to continue giving, one must also receive. To keep the fire of compassion burning, one must not be left in the cold.

Let us confront this grave injustice and commit to ensuring that those who find happiness in the happiness of others, who heal and care, are not only upheld but cherished, loved, and respected ever. Their sacrifice is not a call for abandonment, but a reminder that love, too, needs to be replenished.

My life mattered. My well-being was vital. We can always restart. Let's care for me, you will honour not just my role but your very humanity.

With deep heartfelt anguish,

A doctor.
