Four Indians companies have made it to the World’s Top 100 list according to Kantar BrandZ Most Valuable Global Brands Report for 2024. These are Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank, Airtel and Infosys. While Apple tops the list for the third consecutive year, Google holds the second spot and Microsoft finishes third.
The 2024 list underlines the fact that technology has emerged as the fastest growing business genre with a 45 per cent surge in total value, primarily driven by the advent of advanced artificial intelligence (AI).
INDIAN WINNERS
The IT giant TCS is the highest-ranked Indian company at position number 46 in the 2024 list, with a valuation of approximately $44.8 billion. TCS had finished 42nd spot last year.
HDFC Bank is at the 47th spot on the list this year with a brand value of nearly $43.3 billion. HDFC has climbed up the charts in 2024. The bank had finished at number 56 last year.
Telecom giant Airtel, with a valuation of about $25.3 billion, is at position 73 in 2024, up from the 76th spot last year.
The Indian multinational IT major Infosys holds the 74th spot with a brand value of around $24.7 billion in 2024, down from last year’s position of number 66.
Together, the four Indian companies on the most valued brand list of 2024 are worth more than $138 billion.
TOP FIVE
Apple tops the list for the third consecutive year as the world’s most valuable brand. This year, the US tech behemoth became the first company in the world to scale the $1 trillion mark in terms of brand value.
Online major Google finishes second on the 2024 list with a valuation of nearly $753.5 billion.
The technology major Microsoft is at number three this year with a brand value of $712.9 billion.
The other companies that feature high up on the list are the e-commerce giant Amazon at the fourth position with a valuation of $576.6 billion and the fast food chain McDonald’s at number five with a brand value of $221.9 billion.
NVIDIA HIGHEST GAINER
Although NVIDIA finishes at number six, the brand is the top gainer in the 2004 list, jumping 18 spots. The tech company’s brand value, at $201.8 billion, has seen a phenomenal growth of 178 per cent this year.
Others in the top 10 are Visa (with a brand value of $188.9 billion), Facebook ($166.8 billion), Oracle ($145.5 billion) and Tencent ($135.2 billion).
The 2024 Top 100 list includes five newcomer companies including Lululemon at number 92 and Corona at number 100.
The Kantar BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands report is based on opinions of over 4.3 million respondents and about 21,000 brands across 532 categories.
