Naar restaurant in Kasauli, Manam Chocolate factory in Hyderabad and Museum of Solutions in Mumbai are the three attractions from India that feature in Time magazine’s list of the world’s 100 greatest places to visit in 2024.

“The World’s Greatest Places: 100 Exciting Places To Visit Now,” says the cover of the magazine’s upcoming August 5, 2024, issue, which carries of the annual list.

GLOBAL HIGHLIGHTS

Among international attractions featured is Royal Caribbean’s Icon Of The Seas, the world’s biggest cruise ship that can carry around 10,000 people and that is highlighted as one of the travel experiences on the list. Fontainebleau, the $3.7-billion Las Vegas Strip hotel that has been 23 years in the making, and the International African American Museum in Charleston, South Carolina, are among attractions, too. The Italian winter sports hub Cortina D’Ampezzo and the Raffles hotel, London, which was once Winston Churchill’s historic office, are other highlights.

INDIAN ATTRACTIONS

Here are the three Indian hotspots that have made it to the Time magazine list of the world’s 100 greatest places to visit in 2024:

Naar restaurant

Naar is a boutique restaurant in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, started by Kashmiri chef Prateek Sadhu. The highlight of the restaurant is the use of authentic regional ingredients such as juniper-smoked lamb, Mushqbudji rice, Ladakhi buckwheat pasta, Uttarakhandi galgal lemons, Himachali yak cheese and Naga bamboo shoot pickles.

Manam Chocolate factory

The Manam factory in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, collaborates with the cocoa farmers and fermenters of Andhra Pradesh to create a unique taste. Within a year of operations, prestigious organisations such as the Academy of Chocolate of the United Kingdom and the International Institute of Chocolate and Cacao Tasting have awarded the factory.

Museum of Solutions

The Museum of Solutions, or MuSo, is a 10-storey building inside the Kamla Mills Complex of Lower Parel. It is an unconventional children’s museum with labs that let the young ones play, discover, learn and grow, with an emphasis on fun.

HOW THE LIST IS COMPILED

According to the magazine’s official website: “To compile the 2024 list, Time solicited nominations of places — including hotels, cruises, restaurants, attractions, museums, parks, and more — from its international network of correspondents and contributors, as well as through an application process, with an eye toward those offering new and exciting experiences.”

“While last year's list featured 50 cities, this year we decided to explore even more — and more specific — establishments that stand out in their field, and the world. The result: 100 extraordinary destinations to visit and stay this year,” the magazine adds.
