Make in India, the government’s flagship initiative to augur all-round development of the country, has completed a decade. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday took to social media to celebrate 10 years of the scheme that, he noted, has led to rise in exports across various sectors, boosted the nation’s building capacity and, in the process, strengthened economy. Union Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah also posted his message to the nation on the occasion.

“Today, we mark #10YearsOfMakeInIndia. I compliment all those who are tirelessly working to make this movement a success over the last decade. ‘Make in India’ illustrates the collective resolve of 140 crore Indians to make our nation a powerhouse of manufacturing and innovation. It’s noteworthy how exports have risen in various sectors, capacities have been built, and thus, the economy has been strengthened,” the Prime Minister poster on his official X handle, @narendramodi.

PM Modi pointed out the Make In India initiative was a significant movement to make the nation Atmanirbhar (self-reliant) and realise the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) in order to secure the status of a developed nation for India by 2047, the country’s 100th year of Independence. The mission of Viksit Bharat encompasses various aspects of development, including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability and good governance, and the Make in India initiative is key to achieving all of these.

“The Government of India is committed to encouraging ‘Make in India’ through all possible ways. India’s strides in reforms will also continue. Together, we will build an Atmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat! @makeinindia,” PM Modi further wrote in his post on X.

Union Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah also posted his message to the nation on the occasion of 10 years of Make in India on Wednesday.

“In the #10YearsOfMakeInIndia, PM Shri @narendramodi Ji has unlocked Bharat’s tremendous potential in manufacturing. With the mantra of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, our nation has emerged as a frontrunner in manufacturing and a major destination for investment, creating a world of opportunities for our youth,” @AmitShah posted on X.
