Mahagathbandhan

Mahagathbandhan, also known as Grand Alliance, is a misnomer used by Indian journalists for the coalition of political parties in Bihar, formed ahead of the 2015 Vidhan Sabha elections in Bihar. The alliance was called so when the current Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) was a part of it, implying it was a grand alliance of Yadavs, OBCs and Muslims. After Kumar dumped the alliance, decisively for the second time, the alliance lost the claim to represent the OBCs and, hence, should no longer be called 'maha'.
