Donald Trump

Donald Trump emerged victorious in the 2016 presidential election, representing the Republican Party and defeating Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton despite losing the popular vote. A special counsel investigation confirmed Russian interference in the election in favour of Trump. Throughout his campaign, Trump's political stances were labelled as populist, protectionist, isolationist, and nationalist. His presidency and policies triggered a series of protests. Notably, he was the sole US president lacking prior military or government experience. Trump propagated conspiracy theories and disseminated numerous false and misleading statements during his campaigns and time in office, marking an unprecedented level in American politics. Many of his remarks and actions have been criticized as racially charged, racist, and misogynistic.
