Bihar

Bihar, in eastern India, is the third most populous state, 12th largest by area, and 15th largest by GDP in 2021. It borders Uttar Pradesh, Nepal, West Bengal, and Jharkhand. The Ganges River divides the state. Jharkhand was created in 2000 from southern Bihar. Only 11.27% of the population lives in urban areas, with nearly 58% under 25 years old. Hindi is the official language, alongside Urdu. Maithili, Magahi, and Bhojpuri are primary native languages.
